Run entirely by dedicated student volunteers, this valuable service is confidential. The Food Support Service is a non-profit service that provides confidential assistance and food hampers to members of the UWaterloo community experiencing food insecurity. Pay-What-You-Can (PWYC) is a WUSA pilot program at The Bomber offering nourishing, ready-to-eat meals to students who need support. Whether it’s for a day, a week, or the whole term, PWYC is here for you!

What’s on the Menu?
We offer hot, pre-packaged meals prepared fresh daily in our kitchen. Available every weekday while quantities last. The menu changes every few days, offering a variety of delicious options.

PWYC program will run from October 2025 until April 2026.

Stock the Bank is Back This Fall!

We’re excited to bring back Stock the Bank, the University of Waterloo’s campus-wide, friendly competition supporting the WUSA Food Support Service (FSS)!

To kick things off, check out our short welcome video below.

What’s Stock the Bank?

Departments across campus form teams to collect non-perishable food and monetary donations. Points are awarded per item and per dollar—bonus points for high-need items. At the end of the campaign, we crown a campus champion and celebrate the collective impact you’ve made for students experiencing food insecurity.

All University of Waterloo undergraduate students, graduate students, staff and faculty who possess an active WatCard are able to access our services.

Please send us an email or access the Food Bank of Waterloo Region for additional assistance. You can also use this link to find your closest food assistance program.

Contact us and we’ll help connect you with local supports in your area.

We have meat, vegetarian, halal, kosher, and hygiene hampers ready to be picked up at SLC Turnkey Desk. If you want one of these hampers, you can go to Turnkey, show them your WatCard and let them know if you would like meat, vegetarian, halal, or kosher hamper. If you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, or preferences regarding the type of food you want, you can put in a request using the link to the Hamper Request Form.
