  • Workshops & Events: We host workshops, events, film screenings, and campaigns to educate on various issues from an intersectional feminist perspective.

Resources Available:

  • Sexual Health Resources: Condoms, pads, pregnancy tests, lube, and tampons.

  • Peer Support Hours: Drop by for support on any issue.

  • Library: Over 900 books on topics such as women’s and trans women’s issues, queer theory, Indigenous perspectives, philosophy, religion, spirituality, and more.

  • Magazines: Subscriptions to Bitch and Herizons are available.

We are here to listen, offer support, and connect you with additional resources within the university and the broader community.

Land Acknowledgement

The University of Waterloo and the Women’s Centre are situated on the Haldimand Tract, land promised to the Haudenosaunee of the Six Nations of the Grand River, and is the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples.

The teachings we hold around sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression, are largely westernized, and diverse expressions of gender and sexuality have long predated the colonization of Turtle Island. Since we have gathered around the premise of supporting the women and trans* students on our campus, we also want to acknowledge that we are fighting for rights to identities that have a history on these lands.

The Women’s Centre’s community was not the first gathering of women and trans* people on this land, and we do not claim to be. We acknowledge those who have been here before us and stand in solidarity with the local communities of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg, and Haudenosaunee peoples.

Voices Anthology

Announcement for WUSA Women's Centre's annual zine, "Voices 2025." Celebrate women's support through art, photography, and poetry. Submissions due Feb 7, 2025.

Voices has been a project of the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association’s Women’s Centre since 1995. Each year, a new anthology of student work is featured on the Women’s Centre microsite, with printed copies also made available through the Centre.

Over the years, Voices has served as a platform for diverse artistic expressions and student experiences. It has provided a space for students to share their beliefs, express their emotions, and reflect on both moments of celebration and mourning.

Learn more about Voices or view our latest anthology.

Free Menstrual Hampers

The Women’s Centre offers free menstrual hampers to any undergraduate student in need. Each hamper contains a cycle’s worth of menstrual hygiene products and can be chosen in either single-use (tampons, pads, liners) or reusable (washable pads and liners) options.

Single-use hampers typically include 15 products, but if you require additional items, please reach out to the Women’s Centre, and we’ll be happy to provide more.

Menstrual hampers are available at no cost and can be picked up at the Women’s Centre, SLC 3104.

Illustrated banner for WUSA Women's Centre promotes the availability of standard and reusable menstrual hampers. The image features a variety of menstrual products, like pads and tampons, emerging from two baskets on an orange and purple gradient background.

Library Database

We have over one thousand titles in the collection, and that number continues to grow. You can search through the collection by coming into the Centre during office hours to check-out the material. Currently we provide a two-week loan period to anyone who wishes to check out a book. You will be asked to provide your UWaterloo email, phone number and student number after every check-out and check-in.
