I am looking forward to pitching big ideas to push both the University and WUSA to do more for students. From advocating on coop, to renovating the Great Hall!

I have on average 2 energy drinks a day.

Vice President, Student Experience

Majdalen Azouz (she/her) – 4B, Public Health Sciences

Woman with long dark hair and a navy shirt, smiling in front of a light-colored modern staircase, exuding professionalism suited for board members and corporate governance settings.

My background includes involvement in student experience and campus engagement through Residence Council, Residence Life Don, Health Orientation Event Coordinator, Health Orientation Leader, and Health O-Team. I have also been involved in clubs, advocacy, and student support through Waterloo Arab Student Association (WASA) Marketing/Socials, North African Student Association (NASA) VP Marketing/Socials, MATES general volunteer, RAISE general volunteer, and UW Cancer Foundation Sponsorships. My broader campus involvement and recreation experience includes volunteering at Fall/Winter/Spring Open Houses, working at the Climbing Wall, and refereeing intramurals for spikeball and ultimate frisbee.

I’m looking forward to settling into the VPSE role and helping shape what it can look like for students this year. I want to focus on the parts of student life that impact people day-to-day, like wellness, food services, housing, accessibility, athletics, third spaces, and feeling connected to campus. More than anything, I hope to stay grounded in what students are actually experiencing and use that to guide the work I take on.

I’m constantly listening to music, whether I’m walking, studying, or just chilling. I especially love R&B, and Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR are two of my favourite artists.

You can reach Majdalen at vpse@wusa.ca.

Vice President, Government & Stakeholder Relations

Rory Norris (he/him) – 4B, Biotechnology and Chartered Professional Accountancy (CPA)

Man in a suit and glasses standing with arms crossed, smiling in a bright office hallway, embodying the professionalism of a Board of Directors member.

I previously served as the 2023/2024 President of the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association (WUSA), where I focused on strengthening student life, supporting student-centred spaces on campus, and advocating for affordability and financial aid for post-secondary students through meetings with Ministers, MPs, MPPs, and municipal leaders. I have also been actively involved with the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA) for three years, contributing to provincial advocacy and policy development on issues such as student affordability, housing, and transit accessibility. In addition, I served as President and Chair of the Accounting and Finance Student Association (AFSA), worked on student funding committees including SLEF and AFEF, and supported community-building initiatives as a Residence Life Don.

I am looking forward to working hard alongside everyone this year and ensuring that student needs remain at the center of the work we do. I hope to be a strong advocate for students by approaching challenges collaboratively, thoughtfully, and with a focus on achieving meaningful outcomes for the student community.

A fun fact about me is that I collect coins and enjoy learning about the history behind them.

Becky Chen (she/her) – 2A, Arts & Business – Political Science

A person with long, straight hair wearing a black top stands indoors, smiling softly at the camera, representing the 2025-26 Board of Directors for WUSA 101.

Hai hai! My name is Becky (She/Her) and I am in my 2A of ARBUS studying Political Science! A bit of background information about me, I am a prominent member in the Arts Student Union, Hong Kong Students Association, and University of Waterloo Young Liberals! I have been interested in government since high school as I love meeting people and waffling about literally anything. I am a huge advocate for mental health, student life and 3rd spaces as I believe that is what brings community together! (Don’t worry, I remember clearing snow paths as well!)

As WUSA Director, I hope to build a stronger community and hear from YOU. I want to make sure every student has a good experience with their university life.

On a final note, I want to make clear that REV is the BEST residence and you cannot change my mind. I can also be bribed with Jugo Juice Mango Glow and Lazeez Chicken on the Rocks (But keep that between you and me).

If you see me around campus, don’t be afraid to say hello. I might be a bit weird but I promise I am friendly 😊

Iman Khan (she/her)

Smiling woman with long, wavy dark hair wearing a brown sweater, standing indoors with a blurred background, exuding confidence befitting a member of the Board of Directors.

I’ve been involved across campus through my role as a Student Ambassador and serving on the 2025-26 WUSA Board. A big focus of my work on the Board has been supporting co-op advocacy and helping bring student feedback into conversations around the student experience. I’m really passionate about student engagement and making campus feel more connected and approachable for everyone.

This year, I’m really looking forward to connecting with more students, hearing about their experiences, and helping support them through co-op concerns and challenges. I hope to continue advocating for students while making it easier for them to feel heard, informed, and supported throughout their time at Waterloo.

I’m really interested in acting and storytelling, and I love anything related to film and media.

You can reach Iman at i8khan@wusa.ca.

Katherine Wang (she/her)

Young woman with long dark hair, wearing a light pink sweater, stands in front of a window with a soft smile—her poised demeanor reflects the confidence of someone destined for the Board of Directors.

I’m currently in my 2nd year of study in Environment and Business, Some ways that I’ve been involved around campus but also my faculty include Environment Students Society (ESS), with roles like Events Director and then eventually President. I have extensive experience in leadership around as well as outside of the university. I’ve always been actively involved in the community and enjoy advocating for students and the best interest of our education.

I’m looking forward to getting to know, as well as getting to hear students’ concerns. I’m a big advocate for good clubs and societies relations and communications with WUSA, for the sake of the student leaders and the student experience. I’m hoping to make a long-term positive impact on campus by continuing the improvement of study and social spaces in and around the student life centre to help curate a better productive campus experience.

Jacob Lewis – 4, Mechatronics Engineering

Jacob Lewis

I have long been involved with student advocacy and governance. Since second year, I served as class rep of my program cohort; advocating for the needs of my peers. I also serve as Board President of a large student housing co-operative.

Whether it comes to the student supports we offer, the advocacy we conduct, our commercial operations, or anything else WUSA does for students, I will make we an organization that works for all. I will also make sure WUSA is fully accountable to and transparent with the student body. As vice chair of the Audit Committee, I will make sure that the student fees WUSA collects is being managed responsibly, transparently, and ethically.

Muhammad Kanji – 3A Chemical Engineering

Muhammad Kanji

I am a 3A Engineering student at the University of Waterloo with extensive experience in governance and fiscal management. I am a re-elected WUSA Board Director and Engineering Society Director, as well as a newly elected University of Waterloo Senator. I sit on the Undergraduate Student Relations Committee and the Audit & Finance Committee, and was involved in the Engineering Society Fee Restructuring initiative. Most recently, I chaired the WUSA Governance Committee in 2025–26, leading the reform initiative that restructured the organization’s approach to campus affairs and advocacy.

This term, my focus is on reviewing and optimising the WUSA health plan and evaluating our services to determine whether they meet student needs. Affordability was and continues to be central to my platform, this extends to ensuring WUSA continues to expand its budget-friendly offerings. I am committed to strategic fiscal responsibility and ensuring WUSA’s resources are balanced, students today deserve to see the value of their fees just as much as those who come after them.

Outside of campus, I have a passion for investing, something I picked up purely out of curiosity and love for the game. I have lived in four countries, yet I am proficient at probably just one language. GGMU.

You can reach Muhammad at makanji@wusa.ca.

Remington Aginskaya-Zhi (they/them) – 3B Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Physics

Remington Zhi

Here at UW, I have been heavily involved with MathSoc and clubs, and last year I served as the full-time Vice-President of WUSA; but my experience in advocacy did not start here. From attending my first Ferguson protest as a 9-year-old, to organizing Calgary’s largest political rally in decades as a 15-year-old climate activist; from pandemic-era pickets to protect neighbours from eviction, to being an officer of the largest student-housing co-operative in North America, I have; from delegating at City Councils as an individual, to representing 36 000 Waterloo undergraduate students as VP, I have prioritized issues-based, non-partisan advocacy my whole life.

As a Director, I look forward to stepping up advocacy on co-op issues, being a part of the new Advocacy Committee to work with VPAs, Senators, and WUSA Officers to integrate University and external advocacy, and continuing our work in improving transit access in Waterloo Region.

As a member of the Wikipedia Guild of Copyeditors, I will never be scared of reading a dense policy document on topics that impact students and interpreting it in a way that is accessible to all!

You can reach Remington at y2zhi@wusa.ca.

Arya Razmjoo (he/him) – 4B, Communications & Legal Studies

A man with glasses and a beard, possibly a member of the Board of Directors, smiles while wearing a black sweater indoors.

I’ve served on the WUSA Board of Directors since 2024 in multiple capacities, including Vice-President and, more recently, Director. I previously served as Vice-President Finance for both the Arts Student Union (ASU) and the Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA), and currently sit on the University of Waterloo Senate as an Undergraduate Student Senator. I also helped negotiate WUSA’s partnership with CASA, which expanded the organization’s federal advocacy and lobbying capacity.

I’m looking forward to my final term on the Board of Directors and continuing to advocate for strong financial stewardship, transparency, and accountability within the organization. I hope to contribute to long-term governance improvements that strengthen trust and sustainability for students.

Outside of WUSA, I enjoy travelling whenever my schedule allows and value spending quality time with family and friends.

You can reach Arya at arazmjoo@wusa.ca.

Mark Jejeran (he/him) – 3A, Geography & Aviation

Young man in a black suit and tie, smiling, standing in a modern office with bright lighting—perfectly poised for a meeting with the Board of Directors.

Hi! I’m Mark, a University of Waterloo student who’s been getting involved on campus in a few different ways. I’ve done some volunteering on campus, through the Walk Safe program, and the campus Open House, and I also worked in food services on campus. I’m currently an executive with the Outers Club, where I help plan events and bring students together around outdoor and community-focused activities. In high school, I served on Student Council, which first got me interested in student leadership, and I’ve really enjoyed staying involved in spaces where I can help students feel more connected and supported.

I’m really looking forward to my first year as a director and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student life. I plan to advocate for better transportation options for aviation students travelling to the airport and work toward launching an initiative to support this. In particular, I want to help students better understand WUSA by being more available to answer questions and by creating opportunities for open, ongoing conversation.

I’m really passionate about flying and hiking, and I recently earned my pilot’s license, which I’m excited to build on by exploring more of the province. I’m also interested in environmental sustainability and look forward to facilitating conversations and initiatives through the Outers Club, including events like our garbage clean-up on May 31st!

You can reach Mark at mjejeran@wusa.ca.

Omar Gaballa (he/him) – 2B, Science

A person with curly hair wearing a peach shirt and a round sticker smiles in a bright indoor setting, ready to join the Board of Directors meeting.

I, like many others, got my start seeing the community building happening around me during Covid, and before I knew it, I was knee deep volunteering with The Working Centre. That volunteering then led into advocacy, and further into a whole range of involvements across cities, across orgs, and across causes. Just at a glance, here are some of those key involvements : at-large member of the WUSA Advocacy Positions Committee (APC), two times Ontario Union of Student Associations (OUSA) delegate, Fall OSAP Rally minor organizer and chant lead, member of the campus club Voices for Palestine, returning BikeKitchener volunteer, and Red Raccoon Bike Rescue (RRBR) member and community mechanic.

I am very much looking forward to doing a lot of active/public transportation advocacy given the upcoming GRT negotiations and bringing the BDS and LSPIRG motions passed at the Annual Members Meeting to life. Those sit alongside other goals like helping students navigate the often-predatory student housing market and the commitments to student life I made as a part of my campaign. Otherwise, I want students to know that while there are a lot of issues weighing on them right now, I have never felt more empowered and optimistic to work with my fellow students to tackle them together.

I lived in PEI before coming to Ontario. Living there, the Canadian smile and G’day as a greeting and a farewell really stuck with me, so much so I end all emails with G’day now 🙂

You can reach Omar at ogaballa@wusa.ca.
