• First-Year Orientation has been a very important and impactful part of welcoming new students to Waterloo Engineering for decades. As an Alumnus, you probably have memories of your Orientation Week, including the friends you met for the first time, the clubs and teams you learned about, and the advice you received from upper-year students, all of which likely helped shape your experience at UW over your whole degree. We know that many of you, like us, recognize the impact that this event has as a cornerstone of the Waterloo Engineering community. Recently, we’ve received some questions from some Alumni about how they can give back or continue to support Orientation Week now that they’ve graduated - and this is our answer! If you choose to contribute, your support will go towards things like purchasing new or replacement materials for events, extra meals and snacks to keep everyone energized, and better/more swag items for first-year students and volunteers. A one or two dollar donation from even a small fraction of the 62,000 Engineering Alumni can go a long way to making this year’s orientation experience stronger for everyone and setting the class of 2031 off on the right foot. Additionally, if you wish to make a larger contribution of any kind, including exploring the possibility of a corporate sponsorship of either cash or in-kind items in exchange for brand-recognition to the 2000+ incoming Engineering Students and 300+ volunteers, please feel free to reach out to uwengoweeksponsorship@gmail.com, where we would be happy to discuss any opportunities further. Thank you so much for your support! -With love from Josh, Remi, & Nathan, Eng O-Team ‘26 Change the quantity to the amount you would like to contribute!
