WalkSafe Request Form

WalkSafe requests are accepted weekdays only, from March 2 to April 2, between 7:00 PM –10:00 PM.

Walks are provided on the University of Waterloo main campus only. WalkSafe volunteers are unable to walk outside of main campus.

Program Waiver

  • WalkSafe is a peer-run support program, not a security, emergency, or medical service. In an emergency, I understand that I should contact the police or Special Constable Service.
  • WalkSafe volunteers are students who provide walking support only. They do not provide security, law enforcement, or medical assistance.
  • Wait times may vary depending on demand. I understand that I may be asked to walk with others or wait for availability.
  • Participating in WalkSafe involves walking outdoors on campus, which may include risks such as uneven surfaces, traffic, weather conditions (including snow, ice, rain, cold, or heat), and other environmental factors.
  • I voluntarily assume all reasonable risks associated with participating in WalkSafe, including the risk of injury, illness, loss, or property damage.
  • I understand that Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association (WUSA) is not responsible for injuries, losses, or damages that may occur as a result of my participation, except where required by law.
  • I agree to follow the instructions of WalkSafe volunteers and to behave in a respectful and non-threatening manner. I understand that service may be refused or ended if safety concerns arise.
