First Year Fair – Making Your First Year the Best One Ever!

Published: Tuesday, September 5, 2023

Excitement is mounting as the start of a new year is upon us. For many of us it is our first time at the University of Waterloo, or we may be students returning to campus for a new term.  If it’s your first time here, it’ll be your first time experiencing the campus and classes. This can create a mixed bag of emotions for many of us. Don’t fret! Your Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association is here to help make your time unforgettable.

Join us on Thursday, September 7 at the First Year Fair. New WUSA Members (Waterloo undergraduates) will have a chance to learn more about how we can support and enhance your Waterloo undergraduate experience.

You will interact and chat with the WUSA student-run services and learn all the ins and outs of these services and how they can enhance the quality of your undergraduate life. The day will be filled with student-run booths, activities, and fun! Keep an eye out for the full line up of activities on the WUSA event’s page.

Services, Clubs & Fun

In the meantime, if you want to learn about our 9-student run services or connect with one of our peer support coordinators visit the WUSA student services page.

Looking to meet new friends and connect with likeminded individuals? We have over 200 clubs that are looking for new students to join! Check out the WUSA Clubs page to explore the different clubs available to you.

You can also check out the WUSA events page for upcoming events for a chance to have some fun and meet new people. Do not forget, Welcome Week events are scheduled for next week and these are open to all Waterloo undergraduates!

Jobs & Advocacy

Affordability is important to us, and so is ensuring student voices are heard. We offer all kinds of job opportunities through WUSA. Check out the Jobs & Opportunities page for details and apply today!

Along with building community and creating fun, we also advocate for a better student experience. If you are unsatisfied with any aspect of your new Waterloo life, we would like to hear your feedback so we can help advocate for change. Email exec@wusa.ca to get in touch. This is what the WUSA Board of Directors is here for!

Curious about how we advocate on your behalf to enhance your student experience? Check out our advocacy page to learn more about our current initiatives.
