Don’t sign that lease just yet!

Found a place and ready to sign? Before you commit, it’s worth knowing exactly what you’re agreeing to.

Join Waterloo Region Community Legal Services (WRCLS) for a virtual workshop designed to help students better understand their rights and responsibilities as renters. Whether you’re signing your first lease, moving into a new place with roommates, or looking for housing, this session will help you know what to look for before putting your name on the dotted line.

The workshop will walk through important things to review in a lease, questions you may want to ask, common rental issues students can run into, and what to do if your rental agreement doesn’t seem right. You’ll also learn where you can go for support if you have questions about your lease, landlord, or rights as a tenant.

Rental agreements can come with a lot of information, and it isn’t always obvious what you should be paying attention to. This session is the chance to ask questions and feel more confident before making a commitment.
