Why should you vote?

WUSA exists to serve the collective undergraduate student body, from services and advocacy to how student fees are used and priorities are set. The students you elect to your Board help guide the direction of your student association, make decisions about campus-wide issues, and ensure your voice is a part of decisions that affect student life.

You don’t need to follow every policy or meeting. You just need to show up and vote.

What do elected student leaders actually do?

Here's what to look for in a candidate:

Leadership Skills
Someone who can rally a team around a common goal and is comfortable making tough decisions on behalf of the student body.

Analytical Thinking
Helps them evaluate the pros and cons of different proposals and make data-informed decisions.

Systems Thinking
Understanding of how different parts of an organization or issue connect. A strong candidate will consider how changes in one area of student life might affect other areas.

Research Assessment
Good candidates can sift through research, data, and student feedback to identify what’s most important.

Goal Prioritization
With so many competing interests and limited resources, candidates should have a clear vision for WUSA’s future and the ability to focus on what is best for the organization.

Understanding of Governance
Ability to ensure decisions are made transparently and with accountability within the set governance framework.

Commitment to Student Advocacy
Passionate about representing student interests, amplifying your voice, and pushing for positive changes that enhance the student experience.

Vote on moble

Remember, your vote matters. The Board of Directors will shape your student experience, so take the time to consider what each candidate brings to the table.
