WUSA’s Statement on the Unmarked Graves Discovered at the Marieval Indian Residential School

We are saddened by the recent discovery of 751 unmarked graves at the former Marieval Indian Residential School in Saskatchewan. Our hearts are with the Cowessess First Nation people and everyone affected by this devastating news.

The effects of residential schools remain with us today and this is a clear reminder on the importance of advancing the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action. We must all continue to work towards achieving sincere reconciliation in the work we do.
