Comedy Night is making its Welcome Week debut! There’s no better way to break the ice than a room full of people laughing together. 

Opener Renee Groux gets the crowd going, then headliner Ola Dada takes it home. One night. Come meet your people.

About the Performers 

Ola Dada 

Ola Dada is a Nigerian Canadian comedian whose special Unlimited Dada is streaming on Amazon Prime and Apple TV. He’s headlined Just for Laughs, hosted the 2025 JUNO Awards comedy showcase, and was a semi-finalist on Canada’s Got Talent. Known for sharp, heartfelt storytelling rooted in his Nigerian upbringing and Canadian experience — this is an intimate show from one of Canada’s most exciting comedic voices. The kind you’ll be telling people you went to. 

 

 

Renee Groux

She has appeared on Don’t Tell Comedy, Guelph Comedy Festival, and the 2022 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She is also the co-producer and host of Fever Dream Comedy, running Kitchener’s longest-running all-women showcase, Girl Night. Her debut comedy album, “We’re Not Friends” can be heard on SiriusXM – watch the full special on YouTube.

RSVPs open May 1st — grab your spot before they’re gone. Limited spots available at the door, first come first served. 

Entry Requirements 

This event is exclusive to Waterloo undergraduate students who: 

  1. Are enrolled in Spring term courses or are on a work term/co-op, and 
  2. Have paid their Spring term fees. 

Students who do not meet these requirements at check-in may be denied entry. Please bring your WatCard. This is an all-ages event.
