Chaska is Officially Open!

Five WUSA staff stand in the newly opened Chaska restaurant in SLC, holding gifts and flowers. Balloons add to the festive atmosphere, while the Chaska storefront and a menu board serves as a backdrop for this celebratory gathering.

The long-awaited Indian food outlet, Chaska, has at last made its debut in the Student Life Centre (SLC)! Known for its vibrant flavours, Chaska is bringing the taste of diversity to campus, giving everyone the opportunity to experiment with various popular Indian street food.

Chaska, which means “obsession”, is inspired by the sights, sounds, and flavours of the truck stops (dhabas), food carts and open-air markets of India. Chaska offers a diverse food experience and creates over 25 part-time positions for Waterloo undergraduates.

Keeping in mind the busy schedules of students, Chaska offers convenient food options for people who are always on the move. Grab your favourite dishes to go and enjoy a meal or a light snack between classes, during study sessions or right after an extracurricular. Whether you need a bite before your next lecture or a refreshing drink, such as lassi, after a long day, Chaska ensures there’s something quick for you! Chaska is open 11 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday, in the SLC.

“We’re excited about our adoption of new cuisines to the WUSA portfolio. Along with our standard fare and sushi offerings, Chaska helps round out the palate; ensuring more students can experience those nostalgic tastes of home.”

-WUSA President Nicholas Pfeifle

Whether you’re already a fan of Indian cuisine or looking to try something new, Chaska offers a taste of diversity that is sure to become a campus favourite. Follow Chaska on Instagram, @chaskawaterloo to stay up to date on deals, new food offerings, and more!
