Update on the Athletics Report and the Recording Studio

Athletics Report Update

Following the 2023 General Meeting:

  • WUSA informed Athletics and Recreation regarding the amended motion that passed at the meeting.
  • WUSA requested data from Athletics and Recreation, including information on facility usage, program participation rates, funding sources, program funding breakdown, feedback, and varsity participation rates (athlete and student fan attendance).
  • In the spring 2023 term, WUSA’s Research Team developed a survey through the Representative Survey Platform (RSP) targeting undergraduate student groups focusing on wellness and athletics.
  • The RSP was conducted in spring 2023 with the RSP Physical Health and Wellness Survey Report being curated in fall 2023. In spring 2024, WUSA Research developed a second survey to gain further insights on and off-campus physical activity participation. The survey was conducted in the fall 2024 term.
  • In the late fall 2024 term, Athletics and Recreation shared data and feedback, and identified what data was unavailable in relation to their operations.
  • In winter 2025 the preliminary results of the second survey were received and are being utilized to support the report, analysis, and recommendations.
  • The Athletics and Recreation report is currently being worked on, with additional information being collected in areas where further clarity is needed.
