Are you passionate about student advocacy and eager to make a real impact? WUSA is excited to offer two unique leadership opportunities for undergraduate students to represent and amplify student voices:
These roles also align with WUSA’s Indigenization Action Plan (IAP), which commits to amplifying Indigenous voices, supporting equity in education, and creating meaningful pathways for Indigenous student leadership. We strongly encourage Indigenous students to apply and bring their perspectives to the forefront of provincial and national advocacy.
OUSA Delegate
The Ontario Undergraduate Student Alliance (OUSA) is a provincial organization that advocates for the interests of undergraduate students across Ontario. As a WUSA OUSA Delegate, you will:
- Represent WUSA at OUSA meetings and events.
- Collaborate with delegates from other universities on key issues, including tuition, accessibility, mental health, and equity initiatives.
- Gain valuable experience in policy advocacy, leadership, and networking.
Why it matters: Your voice can influence provincial decisions that affect the academic, social, and financial experience of students across Ontario.
CASA NIAC Delegate
The Canadian Alliance of Student Associations – National Indigenous Advocacy Committee (CASA NIAC) focuses on advancing Indigenous student rights and equity at a national level. As a WUSA CASA NIAC Delegate, you will:
- Represent WUSA on national discussions and initiatives.
- Advocate for Indigenous student issues and policies across Canada.
- Develop leadership skills and connect with student leaders nationwide.
Why it matters: This role ensures Indigenous student voices are heard and considered in national advocacy efforts, shaping the future of post-secondary education in Canada.
