WalkSafe Pilot Project

The Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association (WUSA) is launching WalkSafe as a short-term pilot project in March 2026 to test feasibility, demand, and effectiveness, and will thus be intentionally limited in scope. During this period, students will have the opportunity to test out the service and share their insights. Feedback received during this trial run will help inform what WalkSafe could look like in the future.

WalkSafe is run entirely for students, by students and will not be possible without a dedicated team of student staff and volunteers. This is where you come in!

If you are interested in peer support, safety programming, and community engagement, WalkSafe might just have an opportunity for you.

About

WalkSafe is a peer-led service that supports undergraduate students walking on main campus during evening hours. Whether you’re heading home after an event, just wrapped up a late-night study session or anything in between, you don’t have to walk alone – WalkSafe’s got your back.

For more information on how WalkSafe contributes to campus wellness on a larger scale, please visit WUSA’s Annual Plan.
