Your voice has power – use it! From clubs and events to mental health resources and advocacy, you Board’s decisions shape everyday student life at Waterloo. When you vote in the WUSA elections, you are choosing who represents you. The people who sit at the table help decide how your student fees are used, and push for the changes that affect you the most.
Why it matters:
Because the things you care about – like lower costs for food, better student services, fun and accessible events, and stronger academic supports are all influenced by the Board. In past years, WUSA leaders have helped:
- Push for Co-op fee rollbacks,
- Launch food security programs like PWYC,
- Bring you deals and discounts,
- Secure the GRT U-Pass, and
- Advocate for better mental health resources and campus wellness supports among other things.
These are all big wins for our longer term direction! An ideal candidate has an understanding of our Long Range Plan and Annual Plan, and knows how to make decisions that are in the best interest of students based on research and data. That’s why your vote counts! It helps shape the student experience you want to see.
