🚂 Join the University of Waterloo Filipino Students’ Association for Parol Express! A hands-on workshop dedicated to creating traditional Filipino parol lanterns while supporting relief efforts in the Philippines. 🇵🇭🎄

In recent months, the Philippines has been struck by multiple natural disasters, including severe typhoons and major earthquakes. Many families are facing displacement, unstable shelter, and limited access to basic necessities. Through Parol Express, a portion of event proceeds will be donated to Oxfam, a registered Canadian charity that provides direct aid to affected communities in the Philippines.

⭐️This workshop guides attendees through the process of making a traditional Filipino parol: a lantern shaped like the Star of Bethlehem that symbolizes light, togetherness, and the holiday season.

Participants will be guided step-by-step by FSA execs using traditional materials to build their own parol. This event is an opportunity to connect with Filipino heritage, preserve a meaningful tradition, and contribute to relief efforts back home.
