Nominations are open for the WUSA General Election
WUSA is excited to share that the by-laws for the new governing model were approved last Wednesday (June 22) and we are now in election time! The nomination period for the 2022-2023 governing year runs until Friday, July 15.
This is your chance to engage and support Waterloo undergrad students as their elected representative. We are looking for 13 members to fill our new Board including a President, Vice President and 11 Directors.
The advocacy work elected reps will be responsible for will be tied directly to WUSA’s Long Range Plan. Nominees should be passionate about one or more of these six issues directly impacting students:
- Housing
- International Student Needs
- Equity and Accessibility of Education
- Affordability
- Quality of Education
- Covid-19
Reps will work approximately 10 hours per week, will be supported by WUSA full-time staff and will receive an honorarium.
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in advocacy initiatives that directly support students, build valuable professional relationships (and your self-confidence), and develop skills and experience to support your future.
