Build-A-Bento is an interactive cultural event hosted by the University of Waterloo Japanese Student Association and UW Cooking Club that gives students the opportunity to learn about Japanese food culture while creating their own custom bento box. Participants will be guided through the basics of bento-making, including how to arrange different food items for balance and presentation.

The event is designed to be both fun and educational, offering hands-on engagement with Japanese cuisine and encouraging creativity in designing a personalized meal. All food will be prepared and served in compliance with food safety standards.

By the end of the event, attendees will leave with their own homemade bento, a better understanding of Japanese food culture, and a chance to connect with fellow students in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
