This will be an excellent opportunity for our general members who are pre-meds to explore a real medical school and get a feel of what their future could potentially look like! It will be divided into 2 time slots that last an hour each, with 30 spots per time slot. Session 1 will be from 6:30 – 7:30 pm and Session 2 will be from 7:30 – 8:30 pm on October 29th. We already contacted the necessary people to coordinate this with on the McMaster Medical School (WRC) campus, and they have agreed to lead the tours. We have done this event with them last year as well.
Our execs will meet up with each session’s group inside the Davis Center approximately 30 minutes in advance of their tour time. They will do a headcount and have a check-in list to match up the names of whoever purchased tickets. Once 10 minutes pass, they will start heading over to the ION terminal (FAIRVIEW DIRECTION). The ride to the Mac Med campus will be approximately 10 minutes. They will all stick together as a group and get off at the Central Station stop. They will do a head count again when they get off. The 2 co-presidents will be there and meet up with the group on the campus. Then the med students will lead the tour, which will take approximately 40 minutes. Then, the remaining time will be used for a Q&A session between our general members and the med students. Career advice and other questions will be asked to help out our general members, which is the mission of our club. After the time is up, our execs will lead the group back to the ION terminal towards the University of Waterloo.
