UW Supporting Heart and Stroke is a student-run club aiming to raise awareness on heart disease, stroke and related conditions in the UW community! Founded in 2021, we aim to raise money for the Heart & Stroke Foundation to fund life-saving research, advocacy and health promotion.

Our goal is to gather University of Waterloo students, staff, faculty and members of the UW community at large to raise awareness on heart disease, stroke and related conditions. We hope to inspire students to pass on their knowledge to their community and help improve the health of those around them. This club aims to provide students with facts and knowledge on the heart by hosting various events and providing resources. As these diseases are the main cause of premature death, we help students learn about heart health and promote a healthy lifestyle early on by raising awareness.

WUSA recognizes that much of the work we do happens on the traditional territory of the neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. We acknowledge that educational institutions have not been a safe space for Indigenous students in the past and we continue to work to ensure that this is no longer the case.
