Service Description

The Women's Centre aims to provide a woman-positive and supportive environment on campus for people of all genders. Run entirely by dedicated student volunteers, it holds workshops, film screenings, and guest lectures. The Centre provides students with resources on issues ranging from women's health to sexual violence. We pride ourselves on inclusivity; everyone is welcome at the Women's Centre!

Reports to: Coordinators – The Women’s Centre

Effective date: Spring 2020

Weekly Time Commitment: 1-2 hours a week

Role Description

Volunteers at the Women’s Centre will be able to provide multiple different services to students who visit their office hours, including providing peer support, answering questions, logging office visits and cleaning and tidying the office

Key Accountabilities

  • Hold at least 1 office hour per week, completing assigned duties during those hours including – providing peer support, answering questions, logging office visits and cleaning and tidying the office
  • When scheduled, be present for any assigned shifts and duties to ensure that events and services are executed efficiently
  • Volunteer for at least one event during the term
  • Attend mandatory volunteer meetings

Requirements for the role

MUST be able to attend volunteer training, entailing sexual assault counselling, sexual health options, and peer support, the second Saturday of the term.
