Fall 2019 Welcome Week Team Member


Welcome Week is a termly week of events that is intended to welcome new and returning students to campus at the beginning of the term. All Welcome Team Members will execute campus-wide events throughout the week and act as a representative of the Federation of Students to ensure University of Waterloo students have the opportunity to participate in fun and engaging events to enrich their student experience beyond academics.


  • Be knowledgeable about Welcome Week events
  • Set up and take down of all events
  • Provide positive and meaningful interactions with students and fellow team members
  • Act as a strong leader and positive role model for Welcome Week, the Federation of Students, and the University of Waterloo
  • Other duties as assigned by the Special Events Coordinator and Welcome Week Coordinators


  • Must be a full-time undergraduate student (including co-op) for the duration of the position
  • Ability to take direction and multi-task
  • Able to lift event set up material; up to 20 pounds
  • Confident, enthusiastic and approachable
  • Open-minded and motivated to learning new things
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team


  • Fall Welcome Week Training – One two hour training session, first week of September 2019 TBD
  • Fall Welcome Week – Monday September 9th – Friday September 13th
    • Must be able to commit to a minimum of 4 shifts during the week (approximately 2 – 3 hours each, during the hours of 8:00am – 11:00pm)
