WUSA UPass Rebate coming this week!
We know those of you affected by the recent GRT strike are eagerly awaiting an update on your UPass refunds. We’re happy to let you know we have one for you! A big thank you to UW Student Financial Services for going above and beyond to make automatic refunding possible for those on academic term.
If you had a valid UPass during the service disruption and are fees arranged this academic term, you can expect a credit of $8.96 applied directly to your Quest account. This amount is based on 11 days of disrupted service, over 121 total days of our winter academic term. Look out for your "WUSA UPass Rebate" by the end of this week.
Due to technical limitations in Quest, students on co-op, off-term, or those who were opted-in manually at our front desk can’t be automatically refunded. If this applies to you, please come to our office in the Student Life Centre (SLC 1116) before the end of winter term 2020 to request your refund via cheque. Please remember to bring appropriate documentation to show that you reside, work, or commute through the Region of Waterloo. Those who require an exception to the deadline are encouraged to contact our front desk. If you’re unsure whether you qualify, you’re welcome to email me and I can look into that for you.
We would also like to make you aware, WUSA is currently exploring the creation of a strategic reserve so we can better support reimbursement of travel costs or operate alternative transit ourselves during future disruptions. Keep an eye out on our news & updates page for developments.
