Warriors,

For the last many months, we’ve been working behind the scenes in negotiations with Imprint Publications and are finally ready to let you in on some exciting news. After their upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), we will sign the final agreement to officially acquire their assets, archives and brand. This transition will begin December 31, 2020.

A student-run newspaper has an important responsibility on any university campus and we knew we couldnt allow the financial hardships brought on by the Student Choice Initiative to threaten the future of student expression.

Over the next five years, WUSA will commit to building infrastructure for successful student-led news. We will continue to iron out the final steps and direction of this plan for the remainder of fall and throughout the winter term transition. Although the paper will now be a part of WUSA, I want you to know ensuring it maintains its editorial independence is imperative to us and will continue to guide our decisions, and its content moving forward.

We look forward to sharing more updates with you, as we work to ensure your access to student-led journalism on our campus continues.

I would like to thank our Board of Directors, staff, and my co-executive for their support. Special thank you to former VP Operations and Finance, Seneca Velling, for starting this project.
