Hi Warriors,

I hope you’re all staying safe and healthy with all that’s going on around us! Each year, Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association (WUSA) holds a Winter General Meeting at which all students are able to give general direction as to what they’d like to see from their student government. With the current COVID-19 pandemic and the protection and safety of students front of mind, our Board of Directors held an emergency meeting to decide how to move forward with this year’s General Meeting.

Due to Premier Ford's March 17, 2020 Declaration of Emergency to protect the public during the COVID-19 pandemic and UWaterloo President Hamdullahpur’s directives prohibiting gatherings of more than 50 people, we will be unable to hold our Annual General Meeting in-person before March 30, 2020. Consequently, in accordance with the Ontario Corporations Act and our bylaws, which confirm that the Students’ Council is empowered to act as delegates to represent the members, our Winter 2020 General Meeting will be held on March 24, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. in the SLC Multipurpose Room and over teleconference. Your delegate Councillors will therefore attend on your behalf, represent your interests and transact the necessary business as listed on the Agenda.

While you are legally invited to attend the General Meeting in person, we would encourage you to follow along via livestream or tune in and ask questions through Facebook Live. Please be aware, WUSA will be strictly monitoring and enforcing attendance requirements to ensure that not more than 50 people are present in person.

We welcome your comments, questions, and feedback on any of the items on the General Meeting Agenda and would encourage you to reach out to your elected Councillors to raise these points at the meeting (please cc pres@wusa.ca and secretary@wusa.ca on your email).

Given these uncertain times, we appreciate your understanding as we strive to meet our legal obligations while protecting your health and safety. Let us know how we can further support you during this pandemic.

Please be advised that we are continually updating our website for changes to our services, operations, and other student resources.

Regards,

Michael
