Key accountabilities: 
– Plan and facilitate team building events for MATES volunteers and executive team
– Collect and incorporate feedback from all MATES volunteers when planning for future events
– Assist Coordinators in addressing various internal affairs, including planning for the next terms
– Assist Training Director in updating and facilitating 2-day core training for new and returning volunteers
– Attend weekly exec meetings and take meeting minutes
– Manage MATES Internal Operations email
– Review and update MATES documentation relevant to the internal team
– Ensure that new executives understand their role, through facilitation of meetings between previous and incoming executives
– Collaborate with other executives for projects

Requirements for the role: 
– Passion for mental health awareness and for the MATES internal community; interested in creating a welcoming and supportive community for the volunteers
– Strong leadership and organizational skills
– Ability to foster teamwork, work cooperatively and effectively with others
– Must be reliable and dependable
– Previous training in Mental Health First Aid, SafeTALK, UWaterloo Student Leadership Training, Foundational Training for Peer Leaders or other similar training is an asset
– Ability to accomplish projects and daily tasks with little supervision
– Proficient knowledge of MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Teams)
– Experience being an executive with MATES or other similar programs is an asset
– Must have prior experience volunteering with MATES
