SUMMARY:Take Back the Night
DESCRIPTION:Join UWaterloo students in a powerful night of action and solidarity at Take Back the Night\, a global movement that has\, since the 1970s\, advocated for the right of women and gender-diverse people to walk safely at night without fear. The event takes place at the Gaukel Block in downtown Kitchener — meet fellow UWaterloo students at 5 PM in front of the SLC (Tim Hortons entrance) to head downtown together! \nNow it’s our turn to take a stand! March with the UWaterloo community and others from across the region to speak out against gender-based and domestic violence. The event will feature inspiring speeches\, live performances\, community resources\, and a moving march through the streets of downtown Kitchener.  \nWe’ll also have a booth on-site all evening — come say hi\, check out our resources\, and hang out with us before or after the march.  \n⚠️ Accessibility: The site is accessible\, with a wheelchair accessible washroom onsite near the booths\, plus additional accessible washrooms a short walk away in Willow River Park.  \n If you require any accommodation to fully participate in this event\, please reach out to us.     \nBring your friends.
