SUMMARY:Student Housing Experience Focus Group
DESCRIPTION:Renting off campus? We want to hear about your experience. \nWe’re inviting undergraduate students to share their housing experience. We want to learn what information students have before signing a lease\, what can be difficult to find\, and what would help them make more informed housing decisions. \nWhat You’ll Get\n🎁 Attend the full focus group and receive a $30 e-gift card of your choice. \nYour input will also help shape WUSA’s housing advocacy and future recommendations about making rental building information easier for students to access. \nWhat will we talk about?\nTopics will include: \n\nHow you find information about rental buildings\nWhat you want to know before signing a lease\nBuilding conditions and maintenance\nInspection and property standards information\nWhether building ratings or an online map would be useful\nWhat information could help you make better housing decisions\n\nWho can participate?\nThe focus groups are open to University of Waterloo undergraduate students. \nStudents who currently rent or have previously rented off campus are especially encouraged to participate. \nPick one of the following sessions:\n\nIn person – Thurs\, October 29 from 12-1:30pm in SLC2156 \nIn person – Tues\, November 3 from 1:30-3pm in SLC 2156 \nOnline –  Wed\, November 4 from 5:30-7pm on Microsoft Teams \n\nPrivacy\nThe sessions will not be recorded\, and your name will not be connected to what you share. \nWhat we learn will help inform WUSA’s housing work and a report shared with the WUSA Board and the City of Waterloo. \nRegistration closes 24 hours before each session. \nRegistration\nIn order to save your spot make sure to register by following the link below:\nQualtrics Survey | Qualtrics Experience Management

DESCRIPTION:Join us for Stock the Bank\, WUSA Food Support Service’s annual campus-wide food drive and fundraising challenge! This November\, self-formed teams and departments will compete to raise the most non-perishable food items and monetary donations to support students facing food insecurity. \n🥫 What’s It All About?\n\nTeams compete to earn points based on donations\nPoints are tracked using a system shared with all registrants\nThe winning team will receive a grand prize — to be announced soon!\nOpen to all UWaterloo staff and faculty — form a team with your department or colleagues!\n\n📅 Key Dates\n\nRegistration: October 1 – 31\, 2026 (closes at 11:59 PM)\nDonation Period: November 1 – 30\, 2026\nWinner Announced: December 4\, 2026\n\n👉 Register your team starting October 1 here\n💛 Why It Matters\nSo far this term\, WUSA’s Food Support Service has distributed over 500 food and hygiene hampers to students\, staff\, and faculty. With your support\, we can continue to provide custom hampers — including meat\, vegetarian\, halal\, kosher\, and hygiene options — to those who need them most. \nAll physical donations go directly into these hampers\, and monetary donations help us purchase additional essential items. \n📍 Drop-Off & Donation Info\n\nPhysical donations can be dropped off at designated campus locations — these will be shared with all registered teams.\nAccepted items include non-perishable food only.
