SUMMARY:Food Services Focus Group: Meal Plan Review
DESCRIPTION:Food Services is looking for students to share feedback on the future of meal plans at the University of Waterloo. \nAs part of the Meal Plan Review\, Food Services is hosting an in-person focus group to hear directly from students about what kind of meal plan model would best support undergraduate students moving forward. \nThis review is not just for first-year students or those living in residence. It is meant to consider the needs of students across all years\, including commuters\, upper-year students\, and students with different schedules\, budgets\, and dietary needs. \nThis is your chance to share feedback on a service that affects you and many other students across campus. The focus group will look at how well the current meal plan is working\, whether it feels affordable\, flexible\, and easy to understand\, and what changes could better support students moving forward. \n⏰ Time Commitment\nThe expected time commitment for this in-person focus group is about six hours total throughout July and August. \n🎁 Participant Thank-You\nStudents who participate will receive a $30 W Store gift card as a thank-you for their time and input. \n📩 Interested in Taking Part?\nEmail the VPSE at vpse@wusa.ca and let them know you would like to take part in the Food Services Focus Group. \n

SUMMARY:safeTalk Training
DESCRIPTION:Register now for safeTALK training  \nSunday July 26th   | 9:00–12:00 PM | QNC 1502 (lecture hall)  \nOnly $22 for Waterloo Undergraduate Students (regular price $80)  \nWhat is safeTALK?  \nSuicide Alertness for Everyone (SAFE) is a half-day\, interactive training that teaches four basic steps to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide and how to connect them with suicide helping resources.  \nWhy attend safeTALK?  \nMost people with thoughts of suicide invite help. Often these opportunities are missed\, dismissed or avoided—leaving people more alone and at greater risk. safeTALK training prepares you to help by using TALK (Tell\, Ask\, Listen and KeepSafe) to identify and engage people with thoughts of suicide and to connect them with further help and care.\n  \nStudents who attend the training will receive a certificate of completion. \nLimited spots are available. Register below to secure your place. \n ⚠️ Accessibility note: If you require accommodations or support to participate\, please contact us in advance.  \nQuestions related to the event? Email mates@wusa.ca  \nEvent is subject to change. Visit this page for the most up to date details.
