Bust casting is a creative and fun way to celebrate bodies. We will be making plaster casts of our busts in a private, safe and body positive environment. There will also be discussion about sexualization of breasts, the ways in which feminization of breasts perpetuates transphobia and body image. Two days after the initial event, participants will be able to paint their bust and take it home.
This event will take place on November 16 from 7-9 pm in SLC 2102.
**NOTE: This event is exclusive to non-cisgender men. The treatment surrounding breasts/busts vary greatly among different groups and gender identities. The Women’s Centre will ensure that this event and experience acknowledges that and will create an environment that is safe and supportive towards all such experiences.
Participants will need to get topless, and the door will be locked once the casting process begins to ensure no one is able to walk in and disrupt the safe environment. Participants are also encouraged to wear clothes that they do not mind getting dirty. Bust casting is a messy but worthwhile activity!
