UW Ceramics Club Hand-Building Activity #1: Pinch Pot

A pinch pot activity is a hands-on and creative pottery technique that engages participants in the art of shaping clay with their fingers. This simple yet rewarding process involves taking a small ball of clay and gently pinching and squeezing it with one’s thumbs and fingers to create a vessel or bowl-like form.

*All materials/tools will be provided by UCC.*

Clay: Cone 6 White Stoneware

Glaze: PSH Underglaze

During the activity:

Presentation: Intro to Ceramics
Demo on pinch pot.
Time to make your own pot!
Glazing.

*Participants could bring their own aprons.

***(The glazed/fired piece will be available for pick-up one month from the activity date.)
